Scuba Diving Photography - Palos Verdes
I finally got to go out on my own with some friends scuba diving. It's been surprisingly hard to find friends who scuba here in Los Angeles, but one of my friends who used to be an LA resident came for a visit this past week and we got out in the water. It was my first time using my waterproof housing I bought earlier this year. I anxiously went through all the maintenance steps with it and ran it through its tests to make sure it was, hopefully, securely waterproof.
Everything went smoothly and I got some good photographs while enjoying my scuba dive sessions. We saw a halibut staring up at us from the ocean floor almost immediately and met some curious lobsters, as well as a ton of garibaldi, California's state fish. The water visibility was good and, as always, it was so tranquil underneath the water. It was a tough hike down to and up from the site, carrying all our equipment, but a great time. The entry and exit was also a bit rocky and slippery, as we had been forewarned about, and it definitely added another level of difficulty, but there were no regrets about the trip. I have to get some of my equipment serviced, but I'm looking forward to the next underwater journey ahead. It's hard not to be in quiet awe when you're down there.
